After only a short six weeks, Aces High has yet another addition to the family, Ace of Spades. This year's robot is designed to be a fast and manuverable scoring robot and has a high reaching arm so it can reach the top rack in this year's game, "Rack n' Roll". Check out the video of Ace of Spades in action!

Bash at the Beach 2007

One cold October morning ten Aces High members pulled out of Windsor Locks High; they were meeting-up with two others at Bash at the Beach. With Robot, Drive Team, and Cheer Squad clad in Hawaiian flowers we did awesome, knocking out some of the fiercest competition, and then teaming up with them in the next round. We visited the beach for our photo shoot. We went to the seaside café for lunch, and for building a jellyfish and walrus. We flew through the sea caves for scouting and robot modification. The day was both intense and lackadaisical. Tons of rocky drivers got to test their skills out on the field, and their voices in the stands. At the end of the day, we packed-up Poker Face and were swiftly chauffeured home in our big bad yellow limousine.

Children’s laughter and parent’s questions filled the air late Sunday afternoon as Aces High joined the Open Cockpit event at the New England Air Museum. Displaying more than just our robot a small crew of members brought along Vex and Lego technology to wow the onlookers from all directions. We found more than a few kids and chaperones who, after seeing us, will be joining Lego Robotics teams in their hometowns next year. They were sure glad (was it Matt Willett?) got us this great invite to our local air museum.
Great Year

We won WPI! Thanks yet again to team 177 for picking us and to team 839 for being our third robot. It didn't look like it was going to happen at the start of the day, but it's a wonder what a great friendship between teams and veteran drivers can do. With this win, our record this year is unbelievable. Two finalist positions, one at BAE and one on Newton, and two championships, one at UTC and the other at WPI.
Allow me to take the time to congratulate the team on the best year this team has ever seen. It was a complete team effort that got us here. The design and build team gave us a robot with some flaws, but that could over all get the job done round after round. The Programmers got us the program we needed for auto rounds. The graphics art team got us some awesome decorations and a new look for the T-shirts. The spirit team kept the team feeling great throughout every competition. And lastly to the drive team, whose patience and perseverance paid off time and time again. Special thanks to Adam, our amazing coach, who always had a plan for us to follow.
To all our seniors, this year is for you.
For all those underclassman let us make next year even better!
